Dawn
A pastel sea at first light, mist on the water, a gull crossing as the sun clears the horizon. Every morning, the sea gives up one island.
Game showcase
Everyone gets the same island today. Build the best village on it.
Every morning a new voxel island rises from the sea. It is the same island for every player, with the same 30 building tiles in the same order. Place houses, fields, mills and harbours one at a time so neighbours lift each other's score, then fly over a friend's village on the very same island and see who planned it better. Same island, same tiles, wildly different towns. Same Island is in development for iOS and Android.
Concept art explores the intended look; it is separate from captured gameplay.
A quiet sea, a new island every dawn, and thirty tiles to turn it into a village. The game opens with a short sequence set to music, told in a few on-screen lines, and then hands you today's island.
A pastel sea at first light, mist on the water, a gull crossing as the sun clears the horizon. Every morning, the sea gives up one island.
Voxel blocks stack up out of the water: beach, meadow, a river finding its way down, a forest popping up. The same island, for everyone.
A small raft bumps the beach with a neat line of thirty crates, each marked with a tile. Thirty tiles, always in the same order.
Faint outlines of other villages flicker over the island one after another, each a very different town on the same coastline. Build your village. Then visit theirs.
The outlines fade and the camera settles on today's empty island, the first tile hovering over a plot. Your move.
A tidy miniature diorama in morning light: chunky pastel voxels with soft bevelled edges and gentle ambient occlusion, matte flat colours, a quiet turquoise sea the island floats on, terracotta roofs as the one warm accent and a soft golden glow only where your next tile will score. Palette: sea #9ED8DB, sand #F6E7CB, meadow #6BAA75, terracotta #E07A5F, slate #3D405B.
